السؤال: بعض الناس هنا يفعلون  وليمة الزواج و النكاح في المسجد، هل هذا من السنة ؟ ما الحكم عن هذا؟

Question: Some people in here does the marriage walimah (feast) and the nikah (marriage ) in the masjid, is this from sunnah? what’s the ruling regarding this?

الجواب: ليس من السنة ولا دليل على استحبابه  ... لكن لو حصل في المسجد ولم يكن فيه منكرات فلا مانع، لكنه ليس سنة، ولا يصح اعتقاد أنه أفضل من غيره ... لكنه مباح ...

Answer: It is not from sunnah and there is no evidence regarding its desirability (i.e. doing it in the masjid). However, if it took place in the masjid and there are no evils in it, then there is no problem. Nonetheless, it is not from sunnah and it is not correct to believe that it is better than other than it (i.e. Doing in the masjid is not better than doing in any other place). However, it is permissible. 

[The above was about the nikah (marriage)].

أما الوليمة فلا ينبغي وضعها في المسجد 

As for the walimah (feast), it should not be placed in the masjid.

السؤال: ما نصيحة الشيخ حفظه الله للشباب في بداية طريق الاستقامة على الخير؟

الجواب: أن يلزموا أهل العلم، وأن يطلبوا العلم في مراحل الدراسة أو على المشايخ في المساجد، وأن يحرصوا على حضور المحاضرات والدروس في المساجد على طلب العلم، هذا ما ننصح به شباب المسلمين ونحذرهم من التفرق، ومن قرناء السوء، ومن الرحلات المشبوهة، والمخيمات المشبوهة والاستراحات وغير ذلك، لا يصحب إلا الطيبين المستقيمين على طاعة الله، ولا يجالس إلا أهل الخير. نعم.

The Question: What is the advice of the Shaykh May Allah preserve him for the youths at the beginning of the path of steadfastness upon good? 

The Answer: They must stick to the People of Knowledge, seek knowledge in the grades school or with the scholars in the masjids, and hasten to attend the lectures and lessons in the masjids with the students of knowledge. This is what we advise the youths of Muslim with. Also, we warn them against splitting, evil companies, from doubtful trips, doubtful camps, and vacations, and other than these. He should not company except the good steadfast ones upon the obedience to Allah, and he should not sit except with the people of good. Yes.
