Where are we with regard to fulfilling the needs of the Muslims, relieving their distress, and covering them (i.e. their faults)?

My Beloveds: Where are we with regard to fulfilling the needs of the Muslims, relieving their distress, and covering them (i.e. their faults)?

Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhe wa sallam) said:

"A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim. So he should not oppress him nor should he hand him over to (his satan or to his self which is inclined to evil). Whoever fulfills the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs; whoever removes the troubles of his brother, Allah will remove one of his troubles on the Day of Resurrection; and whoever covers up the fault of a Muslim, Allah will cover up his fault on the Day of Resurrection" (Al-Bukhari and Muslim).

"From the Best action is to bring happiness to a believer, to pay off a debt from him, to fulfill a need for him, and to relieve a hardship from him" (The narrator: Muhammad bin Munkader, The hadith scholar: Al-Albanee, The source: Sahih Al-Jamea, The Page or Number: 5897, Summary of the grading: Authentic).

Ahadeeth on Zakatul Fitr: When to Give it, What to give, & how much?

Nasrin Akther Abdullah bin Umar radi Allahu anhu (narrated) that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam made zakatul fitr from Ramadan obligatory upon every individual from the Muslims: Freed (person) or slave or man or woman, young or old, a saa (4 handfuls cupped by both hands) from dried dates or a saa from barley. [It was reported by Imam Muslim)

Nasrin Akther What is the time of giving out of the Zakatul Fitr? The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said: Whoever gives it out before the (Eid) Prayer, then it is accepted zakatul (fitr), and whoever gives it out after the (Eid) prayer then it is charity from the charities. [Shaykh Albanee graded it Hasan]

Nasrin Akther Zakatul Ftir - Food or Money

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said, "Zakatul Fitr is purification for the pasting person from mistakes and indecencies (immortalities) and (it is) food for the poor people." [Shaykh Albanee authenticated it.]

Nasrin Akther Food or Money?

Abu Sayed Alkhudree radi Allahu anhu said, "We used to give out zakatul ftir as a saa (4 handfuls cupped by both hands) from food, or a saa from barley or a saw from dried dates or a saa from yogurt or a saa from raisin." [Imam Muslim reported it.]

Nasrin Akther Zakatul Fitr

The Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam obligated Sadaqatul Fitr as a saa (4 handfuls cupped by both hands) from barley, or a saa from dried dates upon the young and the old, and the freed (person), and the slave. [Imam AlBukhari reported it]

Nasrin Akther Ibn Umar radi Allahu anhu narrated that the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam ordered regarding the zakatul fitr that it should be given out before the people go out to the (Eid) prayer. [Agreed upon: AlBukhari & Muslim]

Allahu Akhbar! Our jealousy rejects except that we are harsh and use harshness...

Enter the Jannah with peace

The Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said, "O people! Spread the salam (the Islamic greeting), and feed the food, and maintain the family ties, and pray at night while the people are sleeping, thus enter the Jannah with peace." The Manner of Congratulating During the Blessed Eidul Adhaa

The Manner of Congratulating During the Blessed Eidul Adhaa

Question: What is the manner of congratulating on the blessed Eidul Adhaa, and we learned that the people say on Eidul Al-Fitr to each other: May Allah accept from us and you the righteous actions (Taqabbala Allahu minna wa minkum saalih alaamaal), so what do we say on Eidul Adhaa?

Answer: There isn't for this a known specific manner (way/form), so if he supplicates for him, he says: May Allah accept from us and you (Taqabbala Allahu minna wa minkum), or May you have blessed Eid (Eidkum Mubaarak), or the Eid is blessed (AlEid Mubaarak), or May Allah cause your Eid to be blessed (Jaala Allahu Eidkum Mubaarak), whether it is Eidul Adhaa or Eidul Fitr, all of it one (the same), and likewise in the Hajj, May your hajj be accepted (Hajjuka Maqbool), may Allah accept from you (Taqabbala Allahu minka), May your umrah be accepted, may Allah accept from you (Umrah Maqboolah Taqabbala Allahu minka), all of this and similar to it enough, because there is no specific known form for it.

As for the Eids of the disbelievers and the Christians, then it is not allowed to congratulate them in them (their holy days), nor joining them in them. So if you are in the place of the Eid for the disbelievers, Christians, or other than them, then it is not allowed for you to congratulate them in it, nor join them in it, nor attend them, due to what is in it of imitating them, and what is in it from showing pleasure with their unlawful Eid. There isn't for the Muslims except two Eids, the Eid of Sacrifice, and the Eid of Breaking Fast, and days of the Hajj are also called Eid, the day of Arafah, and the days of the Tashreek are also called Eid for the Muslims, because they repeat amongst them (for them), and they worship Allah in them, as for the Eids of the disbelievers from the Christians and other than them it is not allowed to attend them nor congratulate by them (by those days), nor sell the (holy day gift) cards regarding them, all of these evil are not allowed, and we ask Allah for the guidance and success for all.

The congratulation on the Eid

The congratulation on the Eid

Question: The brother from Waashnatan, he is saying in his question: The people say in congratulating each other on the day of the Eid: "May Allah accept from us and you the righteous actions, (Taqabbala Allahu minna wa minkum alaamal assaalihah)," Isn't it the best O Noble Shaykh that people supplicates for the acceptance of all the actions? And is there any legislated supplication in the likes of this occasion?

Answer: There is no problem that the muslim says to his brother on the day of the Eid or other than it, "May Allah accept from us and you the righteous actions, (Taqabbala Allahu minna wa minkum alaamal assaalihah)," and i do not know anything textual (clearly stated) in this, and the believer only supplicates for his brother with good supplications; due to many evidences mentioned regarding that, and with Allah lies success.

No Answer to Supplication is Another affliction

3 Hadith on Ramadan

The Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said, "The people will remain upon good so long they hasten to break the fast (i.e. as soon as its time starts)." [Agreed up - Sahih Al-Bukhari & Sahih Muslim)

REJECTED Hadith, it is not authentically reported from the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam: "The first part of Ramadan is Mercy, the middle part of it is Forgiveness, and the last part of it is freeing from the Hellfire." Shaykh Albanee said: Rejected Hadith.

Abi Hurayrah Radi Allahu anhu said, the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said, "Perhaps a fasting person, his attainment from his fasting is just the hunger and the thirst , and perhaps a person doing the night salah (taraweeh), his attainment from his standing is just the staying up the night." Imam Ahmed Reported it, and Shaykh Muqbil said: this hadith is good (Hasan).

The greeting at the approach of the Month of Ramadan

The greeting at the approach of the Month of Ramadan

Text of the Question: When the Month of Ramadan arrives, we hear a lot from the people (that) they wish blessing on each other due to its approach (month of Ramadan) by saying to them, "Congratulation to you (as you reached) the month of Ramadan," So, is there an origin for this in the legislation (of Islam)?

The Text of the Answer: The greeting at the approach of the month of Ramadan, there is no problem with it; because of the Prophet sallahu alayhe wa sallam used to give glad tiding to his companions at the approach of the Month of Ramadan, and he used to encourage them to work hard in it with righteous actions and Allah, the Exalted said,
"Say: 'In the Bounty of Allâh, and in His Mercy (i.e. Islâm and the Qur'ân); -therein let them rejoice.' That is better than what (the wealth) they amass." (Yunus 10:58)

So, the greeting due to this month and the happiness at the approach of it shows the desire for good, and the Salaf (the righteous predecessors) used to give glad tiding to each other at the approach of the Month of Ramadan following the example of the Prophet sallahu alayhe wa sallam; as that came in the long hadith of Salman in which the Prophet sallahu alayhe wa sallam said, "O People! Indeed! A great blessed month has shadowed upon you..." to the end of the hadith.

Matters that Aids in Your Memorization

Jul 15, '12 10:21 PM
for everyone
Question 220: What are the means that will aid a student of knowledge in memorization? May Allah reward you with goodness

Answer 220: Verily, from the greatest means that will aid a student of knowledge in memorization are:

First thing is the fear of Allah Tubhanahu Ta’ala, Allah Subhanahu Ta’ala says, “So be afraid of Allâh; and Allâh teaches you.” [Al-Quraan 2:282]

And He says, “O you who believe! If you obey and fear Allâh, He will grant you Furqân (a criterion to judge between right and wrong)…” [Al-Quraan 8:29]

And He says, “O you who believe! Fear Allâh, and believe in His Messenger sallallahu alayhe wa sallam will give you a double portion of His Mercy, and He will give you a light by which you shall walk (straight).” [Al-Quraan 57:28]

And after that, ikhlaas (sincerity) of (seeking) knowledge for the sake of Allah alone Subhanahu Ta’ala, AllahSubhanahu Ta’ala says, “Surely, the religion (i.e. the worship and the obedience) is for Allâh only.” [Al-Quraan 39:3]

And we have seen people who have ikhlaas prevailing over those who are more knowledgeable than them. Then after that a lot of revision and repetition for it aids in memorization.

Also, staying away from troubles, for verily if a person’s mind is filled with troubles, he will not be able to memorize and if he memorizes, he will forget.

These are non-material issues; there are also material issues that will help in memorization, from them: Eating of the things (foods) that are considered current hot like dates, raisin, and honey. And from them are things that are considered hot like black pepper but do not increase on it, ginger but don’t increase on it, because if he eats a lot from it, it could lead to headache and after that it could lead to the whisperings of Iblish and overwhelm on what he has of knowledge.

Also likewise, fresh milk for it aids in memorization on the condition that he does not drink a lot of it, because if he drinks a lot from it, it could lead to the whisperings of Iblish and weaken his memorization, and from it also some matters that could weaken him.

Also, after that his body should not be engrossed (in taking pleasure) whether it is intercourse or other than it because it weakens the person, and perhaps he may lose his knowledge.

Advice for Beginner student of Knowledge of Islam

Question 164: What do you advice the beginner (student) with in seeking the legislative knowledge?

Answer 164: This is a wide subject, and the beginners are different, from among them are those who are not good in writing so he should start with learning how to write. Others are good at it (writing), and it will be easy for him InshaaAllah, what remains for him is to start with the foundations of knowledge as the Messenger sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said when he sent Mu’aadh radi Allahu anhu to Yemen, “Verily you are going to a people from the People of the Book. So, let the first of what you call them to be the testimony that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah, and that Muhammad sallallahu alayhe wa sallam is the messenger of Allah.”

So, the issue should be step by step whether in the beginning or later in seeking knowledge, he should not over-burden himself with lessons; otherwise what he has learnt will escape from him. Imaam Ash Shaafi’ee rahimahu Allah passed by the teacher of the ruler’s son and said to him, “Do not take him from one branch (of knowledge) to another until he has mastered the first, because if you take him from one branch to another before he masters the first, what he has learnt will escape from him” This is one issue.

There is also another issue as mentioned by Imaam Ash Shaafi’ee rahimahu Allah, “Verily, the memorization and the understanding are two gifts from Allah subhanahu Ta’ala, and the people exceed each other in them. So, if you see someone memorizing two pages from the Qur’aan daily and you are not able to do that, then we advise you to memorize one page, it may be that the understanding of the one (who memorizes one page) is better than the one who memorizes two pages.”

And some people may be memorizing a juz in a day, and the blessing is from Allah Subhanahu Ta’ala, and Allah’s aid is sought!

Accordingly, plenty of lessons and overloading oneself with what one cannot bear will be a reason for harm.

MOve to NExt SteP of seeking knowledge

MOve to NExt SteP of seeking knowledge

Question 148: Some of the brothers listen to some audiocassettes, like the audiocassettes of Shaykh Rabee’ on Aqeedah and Fiqh?

Answer 148: This is something goodbut I ask you, why don’t you tell yourselves that I am higher than this level? That one of you should start with memorizing of the Qur’an, then after that he should learn something from the Arabic language, I am not saying that you should learn (Arabic) until you become an expert, and after that you should learn something from the hadeeth of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam and you should take your deen from the Kitaab (Al-Quraan) and the Sunnah even if memorizing the Qur’an only.

The Questioner said: The audiocassettes are means…

The Shaykh said: I do not prohibit anything on the people rather I am guiding them to what is higher.

Women Needs NO Mahram for HIjrah

Question 182: There is a woman whose family members are not committed to the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and they do not support her with (wearing) the hijaab and being steadfast upon the deen. She has a nine years old son. So, is it correct for him to be her mahram, (such that) she travels with him to an Islamic country or other than it because she and her son want to seek knowledge?

Answer 182: If she intends Hijrah then it is permissible for her to travel as a Muhajirah (one who is performing Hijrah) even if without a mahram, like Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah ibn Abee Mu’eet travelled (for Hijrah) and like Zainab, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam travelled.

Also if she does not intend Hijrah but she intends to run away from fitnah then that is permissible for her as well, because in it (running away from fitnah) lies the meaning of Hijrah.

As for the Hadeeth: “It is not permissible for a woman to travel except with a mahram,” it remains on its general ruling and its exception is what is entailed in Hijrah, Allahu Musta’aan!

And as for the son, we did not mention him because the people are differ, from among people are some who are (mentally) matured and he is only nine years old, and from the people are those who are immature even though they have reached the age of 13 or more, so people differ in their (mental) maturity.

In any case, it is permissible for her. And it is compulsory on her to fear Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala and she should not speak to any of the passengers except women and let her not be a source of fitnah to others. Allahu Musta’aan!

Question 56: In the hadeeth where the jews came to the Prophet (sallallagu alaihi wa sallam) to confirm if he was truly a  prophet and they  asked him;  “when is the fetus male and when is it female? And He (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) said to them : if the fluid of the man overpowers that of the woman then it will be male and if the fluid of the woman overpowers that of the man then it will be  female.” What is the authenticity of this hadeeth?

Answer: This (hadeeth)  is sahih, and there is another hadeeth in Sahih Muslim “if the fluid of male comes first, it will be male by Allah’s permission, and if the fluid of the female comes first, it will be female by Allah’s permission.  And this (hadeeth) is in Sahih Muslim.

Help Them Get Married

Question 195: Some parents who have righteous children but they do not (help them) to get married, and likewise parents to whom compatible religious and well mannered men come, but they don’t marry (their daughters) to them, what is your advice to them (these kinds of parents)?

Answer 195: What we advice them with is that they should be grateful to Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala Who blessed them with children and not to waste or weaken this community. That your child is chaste is better than for him to be lost and weak far away from the [female] dogs.

A lot of women are like (female) dogs, they cannot be classified as humans, (because) they jump from one man’s (bed) to another, further to this is AIDS disease that is widespread and the doctors cannot cure it, they do not have with them except to suppress (the effect) of some of its types.

So, if Allah subhaanahu wa ta’aala blesses a man with a righteous child, then it compulsory to help him (the child). And the Messenger sallallahu alayhe wa sallam said “O young people! Whoever from amongst you is able to afford the cost of maintaining a wife, let him get marry, because it is best in lowering the gaze, and protecting the private parts, and whoever is not able to marry, let him fast, for it will be a shield for him.” [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

If Allah blesses him with a righteous woman, she will certainly aid him in seeking knowledge and upon the continuation in his studies, and upon the safety from the current corrupt and corrupting free mixing, she will help him on that. So if he is unmarried how long can he struggle with himself? And it is possible that after a while he’ll not be able to struggle with himself anymore and Allah’s aid is sought.

Wasted Salah - Must Put effort to find the direction of the Qiblah

Facing The Ka'bah

When the Messenger of Allaah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam stood for prayer, he would face the Ka'bah in both obligatory and voluntary prayers, and he sallallahu alayhe wa sallam ordered that, saying to the "one who prayed badly": “When you stand for prayer, perform ablution prefectly, then face the qiblah and say takbeer.”

Footnote # 1:

This is what the Shaykh has mentioned: That the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam used to face the Qiblah, meaning the direction of the Ka'bah, and that is in his sallallahu alayhe wa sallam prayers in Madeenah, but as for his sallallahu alayhe wa sallam prayers in Makkah, he used to face the Ka'bah itself. (As a result) the scholarsmay Allah have mercy upon them say: It is compulsory on the Muslim to face the Ka'bah itself if he sees it. But if he does not see it, it is sufficient for him to face the direction of the Ka’bah; because of the saying of his (the Messenger of Allah sallallahu alayhe wa sallam), "what lies between the East and the West is the Qiblah.”

Ibn Abdil Barr mentioned in Attamheed (17/45): “There is a consensus of the scholars that the Qiblah, which Allah commanded His Prophet and His servants to face in their prayer is the sacred house (Ka’bah) in Makkah and it is compulsory on everyone that sees it or around it to face it, and if he refuses to face it while seeing it or knowing its direction, then his prayer is invalid and it is upon him to repeat all those prayers.

They (the scholars) also agreed that whoever prays without facing the Qiblah and without making the effort to find its direction then his prayer has no reward and it upon him to repeat them (those prayers) facing the Qiblah, just like if he prays without tahaarah (wudhu – ablution).

And in this is the ruling for the one who prays in a Masjid while it is possible for him to seek the Qiblah through the mihraab (niche in the mosque wall that is directed to Mecca) or something similar to it but he did not do so and prayed facing a direction other than it (the Ka’bah). They (the scholars) also agreed that whoever is away from the Ka'bah, he must face its direction, the side of its location and face it, and it is upon him to whom its direction is hidden to find it by all means available to him from the stars, mountains, wind and other than these from what is possible to aid him in finding its direction.”

Be Kind Ya Husband and Wives!

Question No. 174: What is the ruling of the one who has good relations with the people (outside) but is of bad character in his home, easily angered? May Allah reward you with goodness.

Answer No. 174: What is compulsory on a woman and what we advice her with is to be good to her husband, because he faces many problems, unbelievable problems. Yes, by Allah! He faces the problems of sustenance, problems of liabilities and other problems. So, it is incumbent on her if he enters upon her, she should be good to him. She should emulate Khadeejah radi Allahu anha when the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam came to her and complained to her, “I fear that something would happen to me,” and she said to him, “Nay by Allah! Allah will never disgrace you, you keep good relations with your kin, you help all,” and she mentioned something of the character of the Prophet sallallahu alayhe wa sallam and I advise the righteous woman to be good to her husband.

There are problems that the husband is faced with outside the home, perhaps she (the wife) is not aware of them, but if he faces problems from the wife also and she is a bad housemate, then by Allah, it is a very, very bad situation.

Despite all these, we advise the man to be patient, if the woman is chaste but of bad character, we advise him to be patient, and if he is able let him marry another wife, so she (the second wife) would calm her (the first) down, and what the first wife doesn’t know, she does read nor write, and the second one can read and write. So, the first one can take her notebook and go and learn the writing and reading. And if it is the case (that he is alone), then he must calm her down alone and Allah’s aid is sought.

The questioner asked: What is the ruling on one who left off the Magrib Salah during the wedding night and makes it up on another time?

Answer: The answer is: that is not allowed, and the obligation upon the woman is to pray the Magrib and the Isha also, because she asked concerning Salatul Maghrib though Ishaa is more likely to be left off, but it is obligatory upon her to pray the Magrib Salah and the Ishaa Salah, and it is not allowed for her to delay them from their fixed time. Because it negates the fact of being thankful for the blessing of Allah regarding the wedding that occurred to her, and obligation is that she carries out what Allah ordered from the obligations and nothing will pass her from the things of marriage.

It is not allowed to take anything from the Masjid

Question: is it allowed for the person to take a Mushaf (a copy of the Quraan) from the masjid for himself or substitute a Mushaf for him?

Answer: He is not allowed to do that, it is not allowed for him to take anything from the masjid, not for himself nor he is allowed to change it (changing the mushaf he has with a mushaf from the masjid), rather it is obligatory to leave what is in the masjid for the masjid for the Muslims.

Question: Is it allowed to take any book whether Quraan, or any other book while it was written on it "endowment", is it alright to take it from the masjid?

Answer: It is not allowed to take it from the masjid, but leave it in the masjid so whoever in the masjid from the readers can benefit from it, they read it and benefit from it; because the giver who gave it in the masjid or in the library of the masjid intended to benefit people by it. So, do not take the Mushaf (a copy of the Quraan) that is in the masjid nor the book that is in the masjid, leave it for the readers in the masjid or in the library that is in the masjid.
